Sulis pilots innovation in India and competes in Hult Prize Accelerator
Team Sulis from I-Corps Cohort 1 got its start in a social innovation class at Rutgers-New Brunswick Honors College, where Modak began collaborating with Osumi and Pomeranz. The idea was selected as a project for the Innovation Lab, an incubator within the Honors College, where the three students, joined by Mendelow, continued to develop the technology at the heart of Sulis, which uses ultraviolet light to sanitize water – about 12 liters in seven hours. In 2018, the team has not only participated in Rutgers I-Corps site program, but pitched their idea at some 20 competitions, including Rutgers Innovation and Entrepreneurship Expo, the Rutgers Hult Prize preliminaries and the Hult Prize regionals in Boston. They followed up with a pilot in India and were participants in the Hult Accelerator in England. Visit their Indiegogo site for updates.
